The Astral Meridian — Celestial Wallpaper
About this design
The Pattern
The Astral Meridian is drawn from the visual language of historical astronomical instruments and celestial cartography — the astrolabes, armillary spheres and star charts produced by Islamic, Persian and European scholars between the 9th and 17th centuries. These instruments were objects of both scientific precision and extraordinary beauty: fine lines engraved on brass or drawn on vellum, marking the paths of stars, the divisions of the celestial sphere and the invisible meridian lines that allowed navigators and astronomers to locate themselves in time and space. This design takes that vocabulary — intersecting arcs, meridian lines, small positional markers and the suggestion of orbital paths — and weaves it into an abstract surface pattern. The result is a design that references maps and instruments without illustrating them literally, creating a field of quiet geometric complexity that rewards sustained attention.
On the Wall
The Astral Meridian works particularly well in spaces associated with thought, work and creativity — home offices, studies, creative studios and bedrooms where the atmosphere of the room matters as much as its function. The palette is restrained: deep navy or near-black ground with fine gold or silver lines, a combination that reads with quiet authority in both natural and artificial light. From across the room it presents as a gentle, dynamic field — the kind of pattern that adds atmosphere without demanding attention. As you approach, the intersecting lines and small markers become visible, hinting at maps, instruments and slow movement across an invisible grid. The pattern is abstract enough to work with a wide range of furniture styles and colour palettes, and the celestial reference gives it a conceptual depth that distinguishes it from purely decorative geometric designs.
Production & Installation
Printed in the European Union on a premium non-woven substrate using water-based, low-odour inks. The surface is washable and dimensionally stable. Panels are printed and numbered to maintain the flow and directionality of the meridian lines across the wall. Panel width is 76 cm.

Which finish should I choose?
- Peel and Stick — self-adhesive backing. No paste and no water. Repositionable as you hang it and removable later, so it is the usual choice for renters and first-time installers.
- Pre-Pasted — the adhesive is already on the back and is activated with water. Nothing separate to buy or mix.
- Non-Pasted — you apply wallpaper paste to the wall yourself. The traditional method, and the one most decorators prefer for a permanent installation.
