A floral pattern can drift half a centimetre at the seam and nobody notices. A twelve-pointed star lattice can't. The problem with standard rolls
Standard wallpaper is manufactured in fixed-width rolls with a fixed pattern repeat, then cut to fit whatever wall you happen to have. That works fine for a plain, uninterrupted wall.
