Wallpaper installation FAQ at Carta Noor

Wallpaper installation FAQ at Carta Noor

When you are planning a project, it is natural to have questions about materials, sizing, installation, shipping, and more. This page gathers our most important wallpaper FAQs in one place so you can find clear, honest answers without having to search through every product or policy page. Think of it as a starting point for understanding how Carta Noor works and what to expect when you bring our designs into your space.

Many of our wallpaper FAQs focus on the products themselves. Customers often want to know what non-woven wallpaper actually is, how it behaves compared to traditional paper, and whether it is suitable for homes, hospitality spaces, or bathrooms and kitchens. You will also find answers about pattern scale, repeat, and how each design is created from historic sources such as Islamic geometry, Moroccan tiles, Persian gardens, Gothic tracery, Mughal screens, or Ottoman domes before being printed on premium substrates in the EU.

Another key section of our wallpaper FAQs covers sizing and ordering. Measuring walls and deciding how many panels to buy can feel confusing at first, so we have made it something you do not have to calculate by hand: every product page carries a Customise your wall button that takes your wall width and height and works out the panel length, the panel count and the seam positions for you. We also explain the arithmetic behind it on our panel estimation page, in case you would rather check it yourself, and we always recommend ordering a sample to judge colour and scale in your own light.

Because a project includes more than just design and numbers, these wallpaper FAQs also address practical topics such as shipping, production times, returns for damaged items, and how we handle your data and privacy. Our aim is to be as transparent as possible so you can make decisions with confidence and understand the story behind each parcel, from first sketch to final delivery.

If you do not see your question answered here, you can always reach out through our contact page and share the details of your project. We are happy to expand our wallpaper FAQs over time based on what real customers and designers most want to know.

Frequently Asked Questions

Materials & Process

Premium non-woven substrates with mineral-based archival HP Latex inks, available in matte, lustre, and textured linen-feel finishes.

Sizing & ordering

Measure the width and the height of each wall in centimetres, at the widest and tallest points. You do not need to work out panel counts yourself — open any design and press Customise your wall, enter the two numbers, and the configurator does the rest.

Panels are 76 cm wide, so the count across is your wall width divided by 76, rounded up — a 240 cm wall takes four panels, because panels hang in whole widths. Length comes in four options (244, 274, 305 and 366 cm) and we use the shortest one that covers your height plus about 5 cm for trimming, which keeps both waste and cost down. The configurator on every product page works this out for you and shows where the seams will fall.

Yes — and we actively encourage it. A printed sample of any design is 76 × 51 cm, a full panel width, and posts free worldwide. Tape it to the wall it is meant for and live with it for three days before deciding: a screen is backlit and wallpaper is not, so colour on a phone is never the colour on your wall.

Everything is printed to order — nothing sits in a warehouse. Samples print in 1–2 business days; full orders ship within 5–7 working days from measurement confirmation.

Trade & Hospitality

Yes. We have a dedicated trade programme for interior designers and architects. Contact us at studio@cartanoor.com for details.

Shipping & currency

Worldwide, and shipping is free — on a single sample and on a full order alike. Panels are printed in the EU, then rolled and tubed with each one numbered for installation sequence. Standard orders ship within 5–7 working days from measurement confirmation.

Prices are shown automatically in your local currency based on your location — including GBP, USD, and EUR. You can also change your currency manually using the selector in the site header. Your card issuer handles the final conversion if your bank account is in a different currency, so the amount charged may vary slightly based on their exchange rate at the time of purchase.

Orders shipped outside the EU may be subject to import duties or taxes set by your local customs authority. These are not included in the checkout price and are the buyer's responsibility. We recommend checking your country's import allowances before ordering, particularly for larger made-to-measure orders.

Yes — product pages and collection pages display pricing in your detected currency as soon as you land on the site, before you need to enter any shipping details. Shipping is free, so the price you see is the price you pay.
