The Pattern

Damask of the Dunes Neutral Luxury Wallpaper is rooted in the Arabesque — the continuous vine-scroll ornament that Islamic designers developed into one of the most sophisticated pattern systems in the history of decorative art. Unlike geometric patterns, which are built on mathematical grids, the Arabesque is organic: a single stem that bifurcates, curves and returns on itself in an endless, self-generating rhythm. In woven textiles, this structure produces the damask — a fabric where pattern and ground are the same colour but different in texture, creating a surface that shifts between visibility and invisibility depending on the angle of light. This design translates that logic into a wall surface: tone-on-tone Arabesque scrolls over a softly textured ground, with the pattern emerging and receding as the light in the room changes. The palette is drawn from the warm neutrals of desert landscapes — sand, warm ivory, pale ochre and the faintest suggestion of rose — a combination that works with almost any furniture colour or material.

Production & Installation

Printed in the European Union on a premium non-woven substrate using water-based, low-odour inks. The surface is washable and dimensionally stable, suitable for full-room wraps in both residential and commercial environments. Panels are printed and numbered for predictable installation, with the repeat engineered for smooth alignment across drops. Panel width is 76 cm. A sample is recommended — the tone-on-tone character of the pattern is significantly affected by the ambient light in the room, and this is best assessed in situ.
