The Pattern

Mughal Jali Screen Lattice Luxury Wallpaper is based on the jali — the carved stone or marble screens used throughout Mughal architecture to filter light, provide privacy and ornament interior and exterior surfaces simultaneously. The finest examples, found in the Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri and the Taj Mahal complex, are built on geometric grids of extraordinary precision: small perforations arranged into stars, hexagons and interlocking polygons that cast patterned shadows as light passes through them. This design reconstructs that geometric logic as a flat surface pattern, translating the delicacy of carved stone into a continuous veil-like repeat. The result is a pattern that suggests depth and transparency without requiring either — on a flat wall, it creates the impression of a screen placed in front of the surface, adding a layer of visual complexity that changes with the light in the room.

Mughal Jali Screen is one of the quieter patterns in the Carta Noor collection — a design that works through restraint rather than impact. Production & Installation

Printed in the European Union on a premium non-woven substrate using water-based, low-odour inks. The surface is washable and dimensionally stable. Panels are numbered to support straightforward installation, with the repeat designed for clean alignment across drops. Panel width is 76 cm. A sample is recommended to assess how the lattice pattern reads in your specific lighting conditions — the balance between the geometric lines and the ground colour shifts noticeably between natural and artificial light.
